Come Shopping with Me! Edition Brussels. Focus Store: Smets

Hey everyone,

How was your weekend? I hope you had a nice one! I’m here to brighten up your Monday with a new feature of the blog, called Come Shopping with Me!

As you might have read about already, I went to Brussels last Saturday to pick up Added Goodness from MAC (swatch & review coming up soon). Since I was in Brussels however, I decided to check Smets out.

Smets is a luxury store that started out in Luxembourg. They opened a premium store in Brussels last December. It’s funny because I used to live literally a 3-minute walk away from it, but since it didn’t open till I moved, I hadn’t got around to checking it out till Saturday.

Before I can ramble on again, check out the amazing stuff they have there!

A whole wall of designer shoes. Spot the Manolo Blahnik Something Blue Satin pumps Carrie Bradshaw sports in Sex and the City!

Look at that nude heel on the lower right corner. I’ve GOT to have something like that!

The beauty corner. They’ve got OPI, Bobbi Brown, Bumble & Bumble, By Terry, Dermologica among MANY others!

Funky gadgets!

Let’s go upstairs:

I’ve seen this chair at the Met’s in New York, so hello again!

Truth be told, it was an utterly overwhelming experience. I could have taken 100 photos but still it wouldn’t be enough! There is even a restaurant there, so if you get exhausted/overstimulated from all the grandeur and luxury, you can sit down to replenish your energy.

Smets is located at 650-652 Chaussée de Louvain, Brussels. Take a look at their website for all the brands they stock up on!

What do you think? Have you been to a store like this? Would you like to?

Sunny xx

Special thanks to Smets for allowing me to take photographs so that I could share all the awesomeness with you!

    • At some point I picked a shoe up, saw the price tag, and thought:”wow, this is only 389 euros a pair!”

You’ve got to acknowledge when a store like this starts messing with your values lol

  1. Thats such a pretty store! I never went shopping in Brussels before, but I would love to check that out! I really like the idea of this new feature, also now you have an excuse to go shopping every week! :p

    • We should really meet in Brussels one day when we both have a bit more money! I don’t know if this is really going to be a weekly feature though, just because I can’t necessarily go shopping every week. I’ll try to come up with something fun once a week!

    • Oh trust me, I’ve been living in big cities all my life (till I moved 7 months ago), and still the store is mind-blowing! You definitely see a very different crowd there too.

  2. Oh good lord I would love to check out that store, it’s so massively beautiful! I’m pretty sure we don’t have anything that amazing here at all! How comfortable was the chair, if you sat in it?

    • Hey Tina! It is massively beautiful! I didn’t actually try to sit in the chair because to me it’s more of a design piece. The first time I saw it was at the Met’s so I have this kind of respect for it lol. The material looks nice enough though, so I can imagine it’s comfy. I’ll try it out next time I go there xx

  3. Just wanted to say I love your blog! From your posts I am guessing you live in Leuven! My husband studied abroad there. We live in San Francisco, but usually visit Leuven for a day or two every summer while on vacation. I love the Friday night concerts in the summer!

    • Hey Nikki, thanks so much for swinging by and leaving a comment! You’re right that I now reside in Leuven lol (oh my God my location is revealed eeek). Leuven is a great town to live. I’m glad to hear you like it too! You should check back from time to time because there are some small independent shops I want to feature in the blog 🙂
