Hey everyone!
How’s your Tuesday so far? I can hardly believe it’s already Tuesday! One thing I did notice about blogging is that everything seems to move forward at lightening speed, that if I don’t post on a daily basis I feel left behind! That’s why even though I’m still very much stuck with work (I bet my editor wishes she had a whip that could reach me in Belgium), but here I am with some new swatches and review for ya!
A while ago my bestie was looking for a liquid eyeliner. I remembered seeing good feedback about Eyeko ones in the blogosphere, so I thought we should try that (note how I sneakily included myself into the subject?). With an ambassador code (I used Jen’s), when our Skinny Liquid Eyeliners arrived, they took a color buddy with them (Skinny Eyeliner in Emerald Green. Oh Eyeko, you know my green obsession too well)! Let’s see how they perform, shall we?
According to Eyeko, the Skinny Liquid Eyeliner delivers precise lines, smudge-proof colour and easy application, and the easy-to-control pen delivers highly pigmented colour in a single stroke. It also promises a glossy finish that doesn’t flake or fade. The Skinny Eyeliner claims to give precise definition, intense, and long-lasting color.
The Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner is the first liquid eyeliner I tried. The first time I tried it on, I was a little surprised by the cooling sensation on my lash line, and my line ended up looking a little more jagged than I wanted it to be. A couple more times later however, I was comfortable enough to make cleaner lines and even extend the lines out the way I usually do my eyeliner. Just like the product claim, the finish of this eyeliner is very opaque and glossy. I appreciate the fact that I can take the cap off and line my eyes just like that, rather than taking my brush out and go the usual gel liner route. The wear is impressive. I tried it with nothing underneath, and it didn’t smudge all over the place like I suspected it would. However, by the end of the day, I can see the top of the extended part on my outer corners had disappeared a little. On top of a primer or a crease-free cream shadow however (Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo Eyeshadow), the line stays perfect all day. It comes off easily with a bi-phase remover, but my Bioderma Sensibio doesn’t do the trick.
The Skinny Liquid Eyeliner comes in Olive Green and Turquoise as well, which are actually both colors I would like to try, but for some reason I am a little skittish about putting “color” on my upper lash line, so we’ll see!
The Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner is curiously long, and has a pretty elegant shape. The silver part is supposed to let you use the eyeliner in ease even when it has been sharpened to a stub. I personally don’t have any issues using tiny travel-sized eyeliners, but I know that some people find them very fiddly, so this is a pretty smart devise that allows you to finish an eyeliner with ease. The creaminess and pigmentation of this eyeliner aren’t as impressive as the Urban Decay ones. It’s not hard per se, but I do have to use short strokes to carefully line my lower lash line (whereas the Urban Decay ones glides on in one single pass). Without a primer, it doesn’t smudge. However, it does start to fade. With a primer however, it stays on better than the Urban Decay pencils for me. The Urban Decay ones usually smudge a tiny little on my outer corners after 10 hours. It doesn’t bother me so much, as I can easily wipe the bit off and it’s good for another couple of hours at least. This one however, even without setting it with some eyeshadow (like what I normally do. For testing purpose however, I wanted to see the minimal conditions for making it work), stays budge-free till the end of the day. In other words, what it lacks in stunning opacity and creaminess, it makes up in lasting power.
The Skinny Eyeliners come in 6 colors. I might try Powder Pink next time, because apparently it’s a great one to use on the waterline to brighten the eyes up without looking too stark (compared with a white pencil for example).
Here is the swatch so you can see how they look:
Bottom line: I like how long-lasting both products are, and I would recommend the Skinny Liquid Eyeliner especially. I don’t think I will give up on gel liner anytime soon, but for the glossiness and ease of use, I see myself reaching for this often. I wish the pigmentation could be stronger with the Skinny Eyeliner, but it is a fair trade-off for the lack of smudging!
What do you think? Do you regularly use a liquid eyeliner? Have you heard of/tried Eyeko? What are your favorite pencil liners?

The liquid liner is looking good! Very black, how I like it ^^
It ships across Europe for free and costs 11 euros. I’m just egging you on now haha
I have an immense love for liquid liners although I have yet to find an industrial strength one except for the MUFE Aqua Liners but they are so darn hard to remove. The others that work so so for me are Dollywink liquid liner and Lorac Front of the line liner, both give very intense pigmentation but still smudges on me after 10 hours of wear.
Oh yeah I’ve heard a lot about Dollywink as well. This one doesn’t smudge on me personally, but you do live in a different climate. Still worth a try though!
That liquid liner looks amazing – super glossy and black! Oddly enough, I’ve never tried a liquid liner, because I’m so happy with gels and pencils! I’ve been thinking of picking up a drugstore one though, just to try it out and see what the fuss is about 🙂
Hey Emi, before this one I never tried a liquid liner either, but I’m really digging it! After a couple of times you can give yourself a very sharp cat eye so yeah, definitely give it a try!
Hey Sunny! Do you know if this stuff is available anywhere in Canada? I’ve never heard of it, but it certainly looks interesting!
Hey Shannon, nice to have you back! It is available on the Sephora website, but otherwise you can order from their website! If your order exceeds 55 bucks they ship for free. I don’t know how much shipping would cost otherwise though. Hope it helps!
Thanks Sunny! That is helpful, I appreciate it! ❤
Shannon, I’ve seen Eyeko mascara at Sephora – it looks like a squeeze tube! I’ve never seen any other Eyeko products though. Sunny, is the free shipping applicable to international purchases too? And when you say 55 bucks… is that in CAD? 😛
Oops sorry girls, it’s 55 US dollars. I just checked. It’d be great if you could just find it in a Sephora though. That makes the decision-making process a lot easier.
Where did you get Eyeko, from their site? I really love the eye liner, it’s so amzingly well pigmented and the glossy finish is really pretty!
Hey Teri, yup from their site. They ship for free so gooooo Teri!
Oh I so want to try this! x
Hey hon, you should! They ship to Italy for free so go ahead!
Oh, looks lovely!! I have one mascara from eyeko, and I love it!
Hey Petra, I’ve heard mixed feedback about their mascara, and since I need all the help in the world in the lash department, I’m a bit hesitant to try!
The black liner looks so intense! I love my black liners, as you very well know. 🙂
Yes it is very intense! It’s super glossy too, which gives a very different finish from a pencil or gel 🙂 I think it’s available on the Sephora website so you should take a look!
That black looks so nice and I like the shine. I’m not very good with liquid liners but if I had enough patience to practice I suppose I might improve.
Hey Amy, you will! The first time I tried I was a bit weirded out by the cooling sensation, so my line was jagged. And then each time I tried I got better! Today I managed to give myself sharp cat eyeliner with it and I was pretty proud!
They look really good, dark and lot’s of pigments!
Yes they do! Especially the liquid one is fantastic. Now I really want to try the dark green one haha
Very pretty! They look really nice.
Hey Phyrra, yup they are nice! I might have become a liquid eyeliner convert now 🙂
Mooie producten 😀
Whoa! That liner is BLACK! I’ve heard of Eyeko but have never seen their products in person… which is usually a big deciding factor for me!
Yess it is! I think it’s available at Sephora (like what a Canadian gal put in the comment), but I’m not sure if EVERY Sephora carries it and so on. If you get a chance you really should try though. I’m happy I have such good luck with my first liquid eyeliner ever 🙂
Sounds like you mastered liquid liner quickly! I have very little experience with them & have some memory of poking myself in the eye with one. (must’ve been a drugstore one I bought or something!) I have one now that I got in a swap and it’s pretty! But I have no occasion to use it really
Thanks Joyce! Actually if you are OK lining your eyes with one product, I think you are equipped with the ability to handle different eyeliners 🙂 I think I’ll reach for this when I wear fierce eyeshadow combinations. It’s SO easy to get very sharp angles with it!
