Brussels PR Day: New from Bumble and Bumble, Deborah Lippmann, Bobbi Brown, Tom Ford, & More!

Hey everyone!

I hope your week is off to a good start! I went to several PR agencies in Brussels last week to check out the new releases, and here I am with the report!

First of all, our old friend Senteur d’Ailleurs is presenting new releases from several brands they carry.

Do you see Deborah Lippmann? Ray of Light and the Nails Of Steel Magnetic Wave Nail Lacquer Set were on display.

I was most intrigued by Ray of Light, but as I had nail polish on and there was no remover, I couldn’t swatch it for you (bummer). I did take a close-up picture though. Opinions on this nail polish are quite diverse. Most people say the consistency is thick but doesn’t cause problems. However, for some the beauty of this complex shade is lost in translation on their nails. You might want to swatch it before you purchase.

Bumble and Bumble came out with a new line called Color Minded for color-treated hair. I might not be the best person to judge whether it works (because my hair is not color-treated). Has anyone heard anything about this?

Oh, and Dermalogica launched a new Night Repair Serum. I heard the consistency is very thick, but you only need a tiny bit each time.

I saw some Tom Ford lipsticks too, and this time I remembered to swatch them for you! This one is True Coral.

Here I swatched True Coral, Sable Smoke, and Pink Adobe. Is anything calling your name?

Decleor is a French brand that focuses on a holistic approach to beauty. Besides scientists and cosmetic experts, they have their own feng-shui teacher! Now that doesn’t happen very often!

Sampar is a French brand that is designed to young girls who just started working. Their bestsellers are Glamour Shot (there is also a Glamour Shot for the eyes), because apparently in one swipe it erases fine lines and other kinds of imperfections! One of the PRs dabbed some on his face, and holy moly it was as if he just had some real-life Photoshop done! I am definitely intrigued!

Naturelle d’Orient is a French brand that uses a high percentage of pure Argan oil in their products. The packaging might seem humble but apparently the stuff is good!

Bobbi Brown is launching its own version of BB cream later this year (seems like EVERYBODY is doing it)! I got a Brow Shaper to try, and I will for sure review it soon! My first impression is very positive, though I do have to use a VERY light hand. However, it is also possible that the shade I got is a bit dark for me (Mahogany).

La Mer is launching a lighter version of their famous cream. It is supposed to have the same effect, just lighter so that those with oily skin or prefer a lighter cream would be able to get into it. They also launched an anti-aging body cream, so that the skin on your body can stay just as young!

Jo Malone is adding new scents to their grand existing range. I discovered Pomegranate Noir this time. It’s sweet and spicy, nothing juvenile or fake!

That’s the end of the virtual tour. I hope you enjoyed it! I will probably receive more information later, and I will definitely keep all of you posted! In the meantime, I also took a bunch of non-beauty-related pictures that I thought would be entertaining. If you’re interested in taking a look, please click on this link to go to Mostly Sunny’s Facebook page. Like it if you haven’t already! I think it’s better to separate the just-for-fun photos from beauty-related news. That way it doesn’t get overwhelming.

I hope your week is off to a good start! I have a lot of things to review and share with you, so stayed tuned! Also, for those of you who haven’t joined my grand birthday giveaway, please do so here. If you live in Belgium, please remember you can also participate in the Miss Dior Eau Fraiche giveaway here.

    • Haha I think everybody has come to about the same conclusion! I’m still waiting for the right Deborah Lippmann shade to come along and sweep me off my feet!

  1. That Sampar thing sounds VERY much worth checking out! I wouldn’t mind the rest of the products either, but sadly my bank account doesn’t go well with Tom Ford lipsticks 😦 I’m coveting those.

    • Hey Adeline, Tom Ford lipsticks are definitely a splurge, but try to get it for your birthday or something? That would justify the purchase πŸ˜‰

  2. I really like decleor i’ve got one of their body lotions and it is awesome! now i think it’s even better, given they have a feng shui teacher! (that’s just too cool!) πŸ™‚

  3. I agree with the others about the Tom Ford “True Coral” shade – looks very nice. Also would like to try the Jo Malone scent.
    Cheers.

    • Hey Kym, I might have heard that wrong! I just remembered I had a sample packet and tried some. It’s like oil/gel and you really only need a tiny bit! Thanks for passing by and leaving a comment πŸ™‚

    • Me too! I REALLY want one so I’ll know what the fuss is all about haha. We’re getting Tom Ford nail polishes here at the end of the year, but sadly no blush yet. That’s THE item that I’m really really interested in trying!

  4. Oo Jo Malone! I just more of it! I really want plum blossom and orange blossom! I’m super intrigued by the idea of layering scents.

Wish I could buy a tom ford lipstick… But one day! I have sampar blotting paper that I like but I haven’t tried their skincare. Decleor always seemed like a nice brand too! If you try any of these brands I’d love to hear what you think!

I think brows are hard! I hope the Bobbi brown kit works well for you!

    • I can see why so many people are into Jo Malone. Their scents are very pure, so they’re great for layering and if you are particularly taken with a certain scent you’ll get a nice kick with one! I am currently testing a Sampar face wash. I’ll review it soon in detail, but I’m very impressed how something so light actually works very well in removing light makeup!

    • Hey Becca, I’ll have to swatch Ray of Light at some point just to see how it works for me! But then again my nails are still very broken at the moment, so no nail polish stays 😦

  5. I have recently coloured my hair magenta, orchid, deep violet, bubblegum pink, red, and a few other shades. I used the Bumble & bumble colour treated set and it works amazing!!! Trust me! I looooove it! Bumble & bumble in general is a million wowzas~

    • Thanks for letting us know! I’m sure those who have their hair colored will find this helpful! And wow, that’s some amazing hair color you have!

  6. I love True Coral! The colour is so pretty, but I’m not sure if I would be able to wear that myself. I like the TF print on the lipsticks, but I think that would deter me from using them – don’t want to ruin such a nice print!

    • Haha, I think about it this way: once I’ve spent all that money on a lipstick, I better get my money’s worth by finishing it, nice print or not! The packaging feels VERY expensive too. It’s something that reminds you of its existence!

    • Hey girl, Diabolique is already available on US sites, and the news I got is it’ll be available in Belgium in November. The strange thing is so far I haven’t seen any official PR info floating around, so I don’t have more information for the moment. It should be soon though!
