Comma Store Opening, OOTD, + Dior Summer Mix Sneak Peek!

Dear readers, please indulge me, for this is a pseudo fashion post! It probably won’t happen too often. While I do consider myself properly-dressed most of the time, I wear dresses/skirts 365 days a year. Besides telling you where to find nice dresses if my I-want-to-know-how-many-colors-I-can-get-away-with style interests you, I’m completely useless when it comes to “putting an outfit together.” However, since I was invited to the Comma store opening in Antwerp a while back, and I did manage to make the pieces I picked look halfway decent on me, I’ve decided to show you the store with something like an OOTD (outfit of the day)!

Also, stay tuned till the end for a sneak preview of the Dior Summer Mix collection!

Comma is a German clothing brand that just opened its first store in Antwerp. It is in the same location as St. Olivier on the Meir. While St. Olivier caters to a younger crowd, Comma would be a brand for those who feel a bit more grown-up.

What is a grand opening without some sparkling wine? Cava is the Spanish variant of sparkling wine. It’s more reasonably-priced than real “champagne (which has to be produced in the Champagne region of France), but the idea is the same.

There was a makeup/hair corner, and of course a beauty blogger had to investigate further.

To be very honest this would have been my first pick. Alas it was out of my budget!

This bag is incredibly soft! Took me a lot of self-restraint not to keep caressing it!

I really like this funky light!

Comma was generous enough to give us a coupon, and here are the pieces I picked out:

It’s a coral-pink bolero and long necklace (I’m usually not a size 34 in Belgium/France, but with Dutch/German brands I do often need smaller sizes)!

If you have a lot of neutral colors in your wardrobe but want something a bit more fun for summer, scarf and bolero are great choices. Here in Belgium you can never be too sure the weather is going to stay warm the whole day, so slipping a bolero in your bag is the thing to do.

I love this bolero because it has a drapey tail. It’s possible to leave it loose or tie a knot. I think it’s cute both ways! The necklace is something I’ve been looking for. I want an antique-gold long and chunky necklace, and that’s my dream come true!

This is me wearing the bolero and necklace, with the tail hanging loose.

I put the tail in a knot!

What do you think? Are you big on accessories? Or do you prefer to wear something bright and fun and tone the accessories down?

Good news for you, ladies (and gentlemen?)! Dior is coming out with their Summer Mix collection in June. Here in Belgium it will hit the stores on June 20th. I received the samples a couple of days ago, and I’ve been testing them out. Here is a sneak preview!

From left to right: Dior Vernis Gloss in Calypso, Cosmo, Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss in Gold Sunrise, Pink Bikini.

The nail polish has an adorable jelly finish. Pink Bikini also has a jelly finish, and color-wise it’s matchy-matchy with Cosmo. Glow has incredible sparkle but little color. I bet it’d give your regular lipstick some sparkling va-va-voom!

I will try my best to bring you the swatches and reviews as soon as I can. The release date is still a bit far, so I’ll put a reminder everywhere (on Twitter, Facebook, and the blog) when D-day comes. Does that sound like a good idea?

  1. I love the pieces that you chose, it really suits you so well! I really need some brighter shades in my collection too, it’s so much more fun! Can’t wait to see the nail polishes, I love jellies!

  2. You look really lovely! You really do 🙂 I like the necklace a lot and your outfit! I’m glad you’re a beauty blogger though because I like the way you wear your makeup. But i’m glad for the occasional fashion post because I think you’ve totally got it together! 😀
