Taipei Haul! Aesop, Becca, Cle de Peau, Dior, Dolly Wink…

(Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Treatment, and sample sachets of Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Serum)

Hey everyone!

I’m back and I’ll soon be in the full swing! Today I’m showing you my haul (probably the biggest you will see to date) from Taipei! I will do my best to test these things out and review them ASAP!

Aesop Geranium Leaf Body Balm

Aesop Rosehip Seed Lip Cream. I know that’s a lot of Aesop right there but I couldn’t help it! I’ve had good experience with the brand, and the ingredient lists are impressive!

Becca Boudoir Skin Mineral Powder Foundation in Dream.

Cle de Peau Translucent Corrector

I got the Cle de Peau Gentle Balancing Lotion and Eye and Lip Makeup Remover as samples. The miniature bottles are pretty yeah?

Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner. It’s time for me to see for myself how impressive this is!

Dior Golden Jungle Crocodile Leather Effect Nails. I got the makeup bag, mirror, and Diorshow New Look as GWP. Fancy!

Escents Roll-on Headache Relief and Feminine Cycles. I have been using these ever since I discovered them 5 years ago. I’ll review them soon!

Two items from two Taiwanese brands: Gin Ger toothpaste and Yuan Alpinia Speciosa Anti-aging Mask!

NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. So many people have told me this is THE primer and I can’t wait to test it out!

Oh and please forgive me for forgetting to photograph the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler. I got it in gold (it’s their anniversary special edition), and I will compare it with my current go-to (the Shiseido one) for you!

What do you think? Is there anything you have tried and liked/disliked? What do you want to see reviewed first?

Sunny, your beauty culture translator xx

    • *looking sheepish* no… I started out with UDPP which works really well, until I realized some shades are difficult to blend on top. I’ll keep you posted about the Anti-Oxidant Facial Treatment as well, though it’ll take me way longer to test it out!

  1. Oooh nice shoplog ! Since I saw Aésop for the first time in Brussels a few weeks ago, I can’t get it out of my head. Next time I’m there, I’ll go for a little haul 😉 !

  2. Welcome back! 😀

eeeee a haul from Taiwan! I must admit I have a soft spot for miniature ANYTHING (often times this winds up with me just buying mini things even though I don’t need them…) and those mini Cle de Peau items are absolutely adorable!

I’ve got oily oily oily lids and that NARS primer is about one the only things that work for me. I put some on even if I don’t use eyeshadow (which I usually don’t but I use eyeliner a lot) and it keeps the oil at bay! The new MUFE eye primer is pretty awesome too though! (I have discovered that a tiny amount of the NARS primer works best since too much of it seems to make my eyeshadows harder to spread!). I can’t wait to see how you like it (if you do!).

Also loving your GWPs! I hope you had fun in Taiwan and sorry for the length of this comment! It’s like I wrote a mini-essay T_T

    • I’ve heard about the new MUFE one, but apparently everybody still prefers Smudge Proof so I thought I’d start from there! And I love your mini-essays so don’t worry! I’ll keep you posted about how these work for me 🙂

  3. omg, looove this haul! I want to see the dior np on you!!!!! It’s so pretty! And omg you got the Nars primer, I heard it’s the best primer ever! And please tell me your experiece with the dolly wink eye liner, I hope you like it as much as I do! So much awesomeness!

  4. I love your haul! The dior croc nail effect is gorgeous, waiting for your swatches 🙂 I am sure that CDP skin care works wonderfully, have heard tonnes of good things about them but it’s only the price tag that distracts me from buying them.

    • Oh yeah the price range of CDP is gasp-inducing! I do like the pore corrector I got, and the whole counter makeover experience is impressive, but I’m not sure I’d want EVERYTHING they have!

  5. Ik would really like to see a huge Aesop post, really curious about those products! God, how I would like to have gifts with purchase like that here in Belgium…

    • Haha I’ll test those out as soon as I can, Carmen! We do get sample sachets, and I’ve seen some GWP promotion from time to time, but it’s true that back home they spend A LOT on such promotions.

    • Hey Daphne, I heard parsley contains a good dose of anti-oxidant so it makes sense that they would base their anti-oxidant line on parsley! I actually haven’t opened the majority of the stuff I bought because I have to photograph them in detail first. I’ll keep you posted though!

    • Hey girly, it’s hard to say because euros are very low at the moment. I did some rough calculations and found they’d cost about the same now, which means normally it’d be cheaper in Taiwan. Once my cold is over I’ll start working HARD! Promise!

    • Hey Kim, I’ll blog about them in depth soon, but I use Headache Relief for a lot of things (headaches, carsickness, bug bites…). I’m not too sure about availability out of Canada and Taiwan, and that might be a problem. Some other brands have similar products, though I can’t say how well those work.

  6. Hi Sunny, I’ve been waiting for your Taipei haul!! Wonderful picks… the Cle de Peau… sigh 🙂 I’d love to hear your thoughts on the Becca powder. It’s brand I’m always on the brink of trying. I love your Taiwanese brands too; there’s something so fun about place exclusive buys!

  7. Fun! I think I’ve reloaded this post like 10 times because I keep forgetting to comment lol. I definitely need to try Becca and I’ve always been interested in dolly wink – we have it at Asian marts here. But I don’t use much liner so it would be a bit pointless lol. I think the Taiwanese products you got look nice packaging wise. 🙂 I hope you enjoy the nars base as much as I do!

  8. Wow this looks so exciting! I’m interested in the roll ons, nails, and curler- you’re constantly introducing me to my favorite items!

  9. I just stumbled upon your awesome blog. *bookmarks page*. I will also be visiting Taiwan for the first time soon and I’m wondering if you can let me know where you got your cle de peau and becca products? Thanks!!

    • Hey Sneezy! Eee you’re going to Taiwan! That’s so cool!

Cle de Peau is easier to find. It has counters in many department stores (chances are if you walk into a sizable one you’ll see it). You can find the information on their website, but the address is in Chinese and I’m not too sure if you read Chinese?

Becca is a bit more complicated. If I’m not mistaken there are two counters in Taipei, and you can find the addresses on their site. It is at the same counter with Dr. Brandt and some other brands, so you have to keep an eye out (there won’t be a big sign that screams “BECCA!”). Also the shades they have are limited. In terms of blushes for example, they only have a couple that they estimate would sell well in Taiwan. Still it’s worth a look especially if you’ve never felt how fine the Becca powder is!

Hope it helped! Let me know if you have more questions xx
