Hot News from Dior for Fall 2012!

A while back I shared some exciting press releases from Dior, and not so long ago I got the opportunity to see everything in person! I’m sure that most of you have seen the Golden Jungle collection in person, but how about the new foundation, brushes, highlighter and so on?

(Dear makeup god: for Christmas can I please have a machine that dispenses Dior foundation in the house? Thank you!)

I can’t say anything before I get to test a foundation out thoroughly, but the powder compacts are for sure velvety! Also, the Nude Shimmer has real potential. I had it applied to the top of my cheekbones, below and on top of my brow bones, and also on my Cupid’s bow. There is no “glitter” or fallout with this one, and it instantly makes the parts stand out! A detailed review will be up on the blog soon, but for the moment I’m very impressed!

Here is a swatch of Nude Shimmer so you get an idea:

I honestly did not want to let go of the brushes. They’re so well-made and bunny soft (maybe with the exception of the flat-top one for powder. For some reason that one feels a bit rougher)!

More lipsticks, anyone? Rouge Dior Nude are supposed to offer nice nude lips for different skin tones. One person’s nude could be another’s concealer lips, and I’m glad Dior figured that out!

I don’t own a single lip liner yet, but this one has certainly piqued my interest. Rouge Dior Contour Nude is just as you see it, colorless when applied. However, it is supposed to make lips look well-defined and keep the lipstick going strong for longer.

The Miss Dior girl in me oohs and aahs at Miss Dior Le Parfum! It is quite a strong scent (Oriental Chypre), but much more grown-up and less sweet than the other versions I have sampled.

Have you seen any of these in person? Did anything catch your eye? I have quite some reviews lining up, so you have a lot to look forward to!

  1. I’ve had a look at all of this and was not very impressed with the Nude shimmer powder nor the Nude lipsticks, unfortunately.. The new Nude foundations seemed quite good with the gel texture and all though! 🙂 x

    • Hey Ellie, I didn’t get to swatch the nude lipsticks, but I did get the chance to play with the Nude Shimmer Powder. I think it’s something you have to try on, because it’s hard to tell from the swatches how it really performs 🙂

  2. I recently bought the Dior paddle foundation brush and I love that the bristles are thick because it doesn’t make my foundation streaky. It’s not flimsy by any means, but I just wish it was a little bit firmer. It was $45, which is pricey, but I like it well enough to keep it! =) I usually use it to apply concealer underneath my eyes and to apply a 2nd layer of foundation on my “problem areas.” I just use the brush in a tapping motion and it blends the product into my skin nicely and it provides excellent coverage.

  3. Ugh, way too much prettyness! I can’t wait till this comes out, it looks so great! I heard ppl being very positive about the new highlighters! That one brush kind of reminds me a bit of the Shiseido foundation brush. Do they feel the same?

  4. I love Dior and I’m always excited to hear about their new collections. I’m excited to hear about the Nude Shimmer and cannot wait to get the Nude lipsticks (specifically in Grege!). Thanks for the heads up Sunny! 🙂
