Deauty, the First Beauty Subscription Box in Belgium + Essie Size Matters Swatch

With the amount of “unboxing” posts I’ve read, I couldn’t help but feel a bit left out of the whole beauty subscription box trend. It seemed like everybody was getting some, so why not Belgium?

Fear no more, my fellow inhabitants of the chocolate kingdom, as Deauty (the name stands for discovery beauty) is on its way to the rescue! September 2012 marks the launch of Deauty, and I am going to show you what the box holds!

The box itself is very sturdy and can be recycled to store small objects, and once you loosen the ribbon and tear off the sticker, you get the exciting content before you!

For 15 euros (shipping included), you will receive 4 to 6 beauty products a month. The lineup this time is pretty impressive, as it contains 3 full-size products and 2 travel-size ones. No sample sachets that you can ask for from a counter!

For September, you get:

A full-size L’Oreal Mythic Oil. This product is so popular that it has been developed into a complete range!

A travel-size Redken Full Effect 04 All-Over Nourishing Mousse. It is supposed to pump up the volume without stickiness or crunchiness.

A full-size NUXE Micellar Cleansing Water with 3 Roses and Green Tea. I’m curious to see how it measures up to Bioderma Sensibio or Caudalie Cleansing Water!

A deluxe sample (15ml) of Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase.

Last but not least, Essie Size Matters that is part of last winter’s Cocktail Bling collection.

Here is the swatch:

All in all, I would say 15 euros is a good deal for what you get. I would personally love to see one or two more pieces of makeup, and makeup that’s still in season as well, but it’s not too shabby. If you have a little budget and want to discover more beauty products, head over to Deauty and see how you can sign up/fill in your beauty profile!

Have you ever subscribed to a beauty box? Why or why not?

  1. Oh that is a box with some nice sized products! Can’t wait to see how you like them. I love the concept of beauty boxes but it just isn’t for me – I have too many products and samples and can never hope to use them all! Plus I always seem to get the products least interesting to me so I’d rather save the money for a product on my wish list!

    • I’ll try my best to test them out 🙂 I know what you mean as well. I think boxes are great for people who don’t want to spend so much time doing research, but want to explore new stuff!

  2. This seems like a really great box, but I do agree it could have done with another makeup item. I would be SO pleased if I got that full-sized Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water, though. I LOVE my Caudalie one and the Nuxe sounds equally refreshing and delightful! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it!

  3. Loves it! Going to get this! This is perfect for me since I love to try new products and I travel so much that the travel sized goodies will come in handy. This is also a great gift idea for the holidays: the gift that keeps on giving for months to come!

  4. First of all, wow! You really got some nice products (now I wish I would be in Belgium, haha). The Nuxe Demaquillante is nice (though it won’t remove waterproof mascara) and it is repackaged and reformulated now (in peachy pink packaging), I really like Nuxe cleansing products.

    • I don’t think any micellar water is capable of removing waterproof mascara, but I seldom use that nowadays (in Belgium even non-waterproof mascara holds up well on me) so I’m all about micellar water! I’ve tried stuff from NUXE but not yet their cleansers. Now I really want to try!

  5. Very very cool! Nice large products, but it would be expected for the price I guess!

I have been on the TopBox (Canadian beauty box) wait list for 4-5 months and will finally receive my first one in October. I couldn’t be more excited. But honestly, for that long of a wait, it better be AHmazing!

P.S. Great nail colour for fall – I love it!

  6. Honestly I have NEVER signed up for any monthly beauty box. I just don’t like the idea that I am paying for something that I wouldn’t know what I would get. However what you’ve got in this box is very interesting; Essie, L’Oreal, Nuxe and Redken. I love all of them 🙂

  7. I’m glad you were able to finally get one. This box looks great! Ive been subscribed to 5 different boxes and now only just Glossybox, which I love! I also find that they are great for travelers.

    • Thanks Taylor! Glossybox is in the Netherlands, and I keep hearing rumors about them wanting to expand to Belgium but so far nothing. Would be great to check it out since I keep hearing nice things about it!
