What a Vivid Shine! Estee Lauder Cyber Lilac Gelee Powder Eyeshadow & Magnetic Magenta Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick

Here’s the thing, people. If Violet Underground hasn’t changed your mind about Estee Lauder, take a look at Vivid Shine. The new Gelee Powder Eyeshadows and Vivid Shine Lipsticks are pieces you have to check out if you like awesome formulas in general! Today I have Cyber Lilac and Magnetic Magenta to show you.

The Cyber Lilac Gelee Powder Eyeshadow has the same formula has the same powder/gel/cream texture of the Violet Underground palette. When used dry, it’s great but when used wet, it’s practically mind-blowing! Cyber Lilac is a shimmery mid-tone red-based purple with a silver sheen. When used wet, the color is intensified and it really shines without being frosty.

The formula is fantastic. When used dry over a primer (I really only wear my eyeshadows with primer), it doesn’t crease or fade. When used wet without a primer, it lasts for 8 hours before it starts to fade a bit on the inner half of my lids. When used wet on top of a primer however, you really get something that is just as intense and beautiful at the end of the day! What I like about this formula even more than real cream shadows is the fact that blending is a piece of cake

  • . With most cream shadows, you have to work fast before everything sets. With this formula, you can take your time and it’ll still blend out very easily!

The Magnetic Magenta Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick is a bright fuchsia that is rather warm-toned. I don’t see as much blue or violet in this shade as most magenta I have seen, and the good thing about the shine is that it really is nowhere near looking frosty!

Magnetic Magenta glides on easily, is intensely pigmented, and lasts for about 6 hours! The shine does go away after a drink, but the color stays and it leaves a stain. It is comfortable to wear, lightweight, and non-drying!

Here is the swatch. From bottom to top: Cyber Lilac dry, Cyber Lilac wet, Magnetic Magenta:

How about that? Amazing pigmentation and sheen!

For the look, I used Cyber Lilac wet all over my lids with Urban Decay Rockstar on the outer half and over my lower lash line, and Magnetic Magenta on my lips.

You see how Magnetic Magenta shines the best here:

Here is how the lipstick looks after a drink. Note how the shine is gone but the color stays!

Bottom line: Both Estee Lauder Cyber Lilac and Magnetic Magenta have fantastic pigmentation and formula. On top of that they deliver the shine they promise! I would definitely urge you to check this new line out if you are a fan of well-executed shine!

Have you tried Estee Lauder’s gelee powder formula? Are you as impressed as I am? Are you into lipsticks with a good dose of sheen?

    1. Love your hair Sunny! EL changed at least my opinion about them, they came out with good quality products lately and I am really inpressed. I haven’t bought anything yet but I am really tempted. Those eyeshadows truly are amazing, they feel so modern, haha. I really like it when lipsticks leave a stain, in fact, this one left a very pretty one.

    2. Yes! I got sucked in an Estee Lauder spiral a couple of weeks ago and got the gold eyeshadow – it is *amazing*! (angel voices in the background)

      • LOL you know what is UNFAIR? We get four shades out of like 20 here in Belgium, and the gold is NOT one of the four *ugly crying face*

Otherwise I would have grabbed it a LONG time ago!

        • I didn’t know and I’ll never understand why brands do that! I’m still very angry at Lancome for not releasing all the Rouge in Love shades in Europe, especially when most swatches are from US websites and for colours we don’t get here. And sadly, I can confirm that gold is the absolute perfect gold eyeshadow I had been looking for for years (although it’s also very cool-toned, which is why it works on me). Maybe worth getting online?

Sorry, long post. But what I also want to know is how they decide which shade to release or not?!

        • Aww I understand the frustration! I like golds, so I think at some point I’ll try to lay my hands on it. I don’t really know what the rationale is behind this type of decision-making. I guess they try to select shades that will sell well in certain countries, but inevitably it leaves some consumers a bit upset. I can only hope if the 4 shades we get at the moment sell well the selection will become bigger!

    3. The only Estee Lauder product I own is their blush. Been swatching their eyeshadow at the counter but always end up leaving it for no reason. The eyeshadow looks very pigmented (I like!) and when it lasts for 6 hours, I like it more 😀

      • Ah their new blush! I’m going to blog about it soon 😉

It lasts for around 8 hours without a primer on me (when used wet), but with a primer it still sparkles and shines like crazy at the end of the day! Definitely see if there’s a color you like!

    4. Wow, both gorgeous colors. I love the shiny eyeshadow but I might love the lipstick een more. Must get my hands on that one or something similar 🙂

    5. I’ve been wanting to get a EL cyber shadow for ages but never got around to it. The swatches are fantastic. I’m definitely going to pick one up soon. I got a thing for purples and golds. Have you seen Cyber Gold? Do you like it?

      • Hey Jacqueline, unfortunately the gold is not here *ugly crying face*

I’ve seen some swatches online and I think it looks fantastic. Maybe I’ll have to trouble a friend at some point 😉
